Driver causes chaos after stopping car in middle of highway before driving off after crash

A driver who stopped randomly in the middle of the freeway caused several vehicles to crash before they drove off.

Traffic camera video shared by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) shows a red SUV coming to a stop in the middle of Interstate 670, near the Neil Avenue exit on Monday (17 August).

Drivers can be seen swerving to a different lane to avoid colliding with the stationary car, whilst others become stuck behind it. A crash then ensues when another vehicle rear-ends the line of cars.

The red SUV then drove away.

“Welp, it happened again,” said ODOT press secretary Matt Bruning as he shared the footage.

“This is yet another reminder that if you miss your exit or you're confused about which exit to take, do not stop on the freeway.”
