
KOTA BELUD: A car driver was killed while his two passengers injured when it collided with a lorry at Jalan Kota Belud-Kota Marudu, near Kampung Wakap, on Tuesday.
Kota Belud District Police Chief Supt Shahrudin Mat Husain said the three were travelling from Kota Marudu to Kota Belud town when the incident happened at 7.49am.
“The victim suddenly lost control of the car, which then veered into the opposing lane and collided with an eight-tonne lorry,” he said.
He said the car driver died on the spot while his injured passengers, aged 20 and 41, were rushed to the Kota Belud district hospital for treatment.
