
RANAU: A trapped driver was rescued by firefighters after a three-vehicle collision along Jalan Ranau–Kundasang near Kampung Pinausuk on Monday morning.
The Ranau Fire and Rescue Station said it received an emergency call at about 7.25am and deployed six personnel who arrived at the scene at 7.41am.
The crash involved a Proton Saga FLX, an Isuzu D-Max and a Perodua Myvi. The Proton Saga driver was found trapped inside the vehicle and extricated using rescue equipment.
The victim was handed over to medical personnel for treatment. The Myvi occupant was taken to hospital, while the Isuzu D-Max driver sustained minor injuries and received on-site treatment.
Police, Health Ministry and Civil Defence personnel also assisted in managing the scene and traffic control. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
