A bizarre roadside scene has left motorists scratching their heads after a man was spotted crawling in the middle of an elevated road, seemingly without a care in the world.
A dashcam image circulating online by Jean Lim shows a man in a white T shirt and dark pants crouched down on all fours in the middle of a road. With no obvious obstacle or explanation around him, the unusual sight immediately caught the attention of the driver recording the footage.
The road appears to be an elevated stretch, with metal railings on both sides and vehicles travelling on the roads below. Under normal circumstances, pedestrians would certainly not be expected to be casually sitting or crawling in the middle of the roadway.
Yet there he was.
Instead of standing by the side of the road or attempting to cross, the man appeared to be on his hands and knees, almost as though he had suddenly decided that walking was no longer an option.
For anyone approaching the scene by car, it would have been an especially unexpected sight.
The image has since prompted amused reactions from social media users, with many struggling to understand exactly what the man was doing in the middle of the road.
Some joked that the scene looked like something straight out of a comedy sketch, while others simply asked the same question: “Brother, what are you doing?”
While the situation may look hilarious in a still image, there is also a serious side to the incident. A person sitting or crawling on a road, particularly on an elevated section, can pose a major hazard to approaching vehicles.
Drivers may not have enough time to react if they encounter someone suddenly appearing in their lane. At the same time, the person on the road could be putting themselves at significant risk of being struck by a vehicle.
The incident is therefore a reminder for motorists to stay alert, especially when approaching areas where pedestrians may unexpectedly be present.
For now, the reason behind the man's unusual behaviour remains unclear from the circulating image alone. Whether he had fallen, was trying to retrieve something, or was dealing with an unexpected situation, only those who were actually at the scene would know what happened.
Still, the bizarre moment has undoubtedly become one of those clips that people can watch repeatedly and still find funny.
Sometimes, the internet does not need a complicated explanation.
It just needs one man, one empty road and one very important question:
Brother… what are you doing?
