Charles Barkley has seen just about everything in his 40-plus years around the NBA, first as a Hall of Fame player and later as a television analyst.

Still, he said he had never experienced anything like the Knicks overturning a 29-point deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 in Game 4, which captured the scale of the comeback.

OG Anunoby’s decisive late bucket put New York 3-1 up and one win from ending a 53-year title drought, and a drone clip from Central Park then showed how far that moment travelled beyond the arena.

The video, credited to Dylan Christie on Instagram, showed a packed Central Park reacting as Anunoby’s basket dropped.

The crowd erupted almost instantly, turning a public watch party into a scene that matched the chaos of the game itself. For a fanbase that has waited since 1973 for another NBA title, the moment carried more than one possession’s worth of emotion.

That made Anunoby’s own reaction feel even more striking.

After delivering one of the biggest shots in Knicks history, he gave a measured answer in his post-game press conference, saying: “Uh, it feels cool. I mean, everyone’s pretty excited. I’m excited too. We’re all excited. We’re enjoying it right now, but we’re just focusing on the next game now.”

The contrast said plenty. Central Park looked ready to celebrate a championship before it had arrived, while Anunoby was already trying to slow the moment down.

That balance may matter now. The Knicks have created a night their fans will never forget, but they still need one more win to turn it into the end of their title drought.

If they fail to do so, that night could end up being remembered very differently.
