A drone has struck a high-rise building in the Romanian city of Galați, near the border with Ukraine.
The impact triggered a fire on the 10th floor of the building, and two people sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene, the Interior Ministry of the EU and NATO member state said in a post on Facebook.
No other drones were initially sighted. An investigative team specializing in explosions was on its way to the scene.
The ministry did not initially provide any information about the suspected origin of the drone.
Russia has repeatedly attacked neighbouring Ukraine with numerous drones. There have also been isolated incidents in which drones violated the airspace of other NATO countries. There have also been isolated airspace violations by Ukrainian drones or missiles.
Russian forces have repeatedly attacked the Ukrainian Danube port of Reni directly across the border from Galați. Drones and drone fragments regularly come down on Romanian territory.
In April, a Russian drone crashed over Galați, striking an annexe of an apartment block and causing minor damage, according to authorities. No one was injured.
Galați is located on the Danube River and sits near Romania's borders with Moldova and Ukraine.
