On November 25, a seizure order was issued for Dato’ Seri Vida’s (DSV) house and vehicles after she allegedly failed to settle a RM1,060,285 debt to a contractor hired to convert her Shah Alam factory into a studio.
Harian Metro reported that the cosmetic entrepreneur will challenge the order for the seizure of her residence and 4 vehicles issued by the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
“I was instructed to challenge the claims”
Datuk Adnan Seman, DSV’s lawyer, said they only have 13 days left to challenge the claim since the auction for the seized items is set for December 9.
He also shared that he’s been instructed by the cosmetics entrepreneur to fight the claims made against her.
“I’ve just received the papers and documents related to the project. My client (Datuk Vida) has told me to challenge the claims,” he said.
Earlier, it was reported that a property in Ipoh, Perak, and four vehicles owned by DSV were seized after she failed to settle a debt of over RM1 million. Adnan later confirmed that the vehicles are still at her house.
DSV to hold a press conference
Meanwhile, Kosmo reported that DSV, currently in Shanghai, China, said she plans to hold a press conference to address the issues as soon as she returns to Malaysia.
In the interview, she claimed that the contractor had allegedly made use of the money but failed to complete the work.
“Right now, all I can say is that usually, for projects, you pay first, not do the work first and then claim. In my case, the contractor ‘enjoyed’ the money first, but the work wasn’t completed. When I get back, I’ll hold a press conference to explain everything. Just wait.”
