ELEVEN firms on Wednesday signed up as the second batch of partners in the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC) network to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“The Supply Chain and Logistics Center is backed by 30 dedicated logistics partners, including our 18 founding members and the 11 new partners joining us today,” DTI Supply Chain and Logistics Group Undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco said in her message at the signing ceremonies.
These partners are the Association of International Shipping Lines, GO21 Inc., On-line Logistics Philippines, J&T Express Philippines, JRS Business Corp., Procurement and Supply Institute of Asia, Philippine Chamber of Customs Brokers, Private Express Messengerial Association of the Philippines, Shopee Xpress Philippines, Toyota Motors Philippines and Victory Liner.
Launched in June 2025, the SCLC seeks to lower logistics costs, improve connectivity and make services more accessible and navigable for MSMEs by providing real-time assistance and regulatory guidance through a hotline and online portal.
“Our database provides a glimpse of the potential we can unlock together. These numbers represent a significant first step toward our shared goals with 2,500 logistics providers, 3,300 warehouses and over 15,000 suppliers from databases within the DTI,” Pacheco said.
“We need to move our goods from point A to B, whether locally or globally. Our exports are high, in fact, we reached an all-time high of 23 percent [growth] last year... We need to strengthen logistics for the products to move,” Roque told reporters.
The second batch of SCLC partners “committed to reduce [logistics] rates, and when there’s [a] calamity or typhoon, there would be no increase for the movement of goods,” Roque added.
Data from DTI showed that out of 1.24 million registered business establishments in the country in 2024, more than 99 percent were MSMEs.
They accounted for about 40 percent of gross domestic product and 63 percent of total employment.
The first batch of SCLC partners that signed last year were 2GO Group, Airspeed, Cebu Pacific Cargo, DHL Express Philippines, F2 Logistics, Fast Logistics, FedEx Express Philippines, Flash Express, Grab, Laguna Gateway Inland Container Terminal, Lalamove, LBC Express, Maersk, Philippine Airlines Cargo, Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association, San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corp., Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines and YelloX Supply Chain Solutions.
