THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and telecoms network provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. on Tuesday opened an artificial intelligence and business scale-up center aimed at helping startups and local enterprises adopt AI and other digital technologies.
Located at the DTI Filinvest Building in Makati, the DTI AI and Scale-Up Center will provide businesses with training, demonstrations, and expert guidance on integrating AI and digital tools into their operations.
The facility implements a memorandum of understanding signed by the DTI and Converge in November 2025 to support local businesses through Converge SME Solutions.
The center is designed to help startups and growing businesses move from early-stage innovation toward stable, market-ready operations, in line with the Tatak Pinoy Strategy, Philippine Innovation Act, and Innovative Startup Act.
It will feature live AI demonstrations, dedicated Accelerator Pods, pitching opportunities, and specialized training facilities.
The center will also provide collaborative spaces, including a Converge booth and meeting rooms where technology companies and industry experts can work directly with businesses to develop AI solutions and train their employees.
Through workshops and guidance from private-sector technology partners, businesses will learn how AI and other digital tools can streamline operations, improve workflows, and raise productivity.
Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said the center would provide Filipino businesses with a practical and accessible way to explore and adopt AI.
“Scaling a business requires usable tools and expert guidance so that innovative ideas can turn into functional solutions,” Roque said.
She added that bringing technology companies and local enterprises together would provide businesses with the knowledge and connectivity needed to improve efficiency and remain competitive.
Converge founder and CEO Dennis Uy said the partnership would help local businesses take practical steps toward digital transformation.
“Through reliable connectivity and hands-on technology solutions, our goal is to help companies understand AI, streamline their operations, and expand their reach in today’s evolving market,” Uy said.
