Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are edging closer to making their long-awaited all-British showdown a reality. Talks have aligned to stage the fight before the end of the year.

The scale of the event has already attracted attention beyond boxing, as the organisers are exploring ways to elevate it into a global spectacle.

Turki Alalshikh has been central to those plans, even suggesting a major musical performance. However, one high-profile name now appears unlikely to be involved.

Dua Lipa, one of the most recognisable figures in global music right now, has reportedly been approached to perform at the anticipated clash. However, BBC News reported that she has already turned down the initial invitation.

With more than 64 million monthly listeners on Spotify, her presence would have added significant appeal to the all-British clash.

Alalshikh previously hinted that securing Dua Lipa’s involvement was part of the vision for the event. He even suggested, in a light-hearted tone, that the fight could be in jeopardy without her.

That scenario now seems unlikely to change without further negotiation. If organisers want to revisit the idea, they may need to present a stronger proposal.

Fight still depends on Anthony Joshua’s result before final plans confirmed

Despite the growing excitement, the fight is not yet fully secured.

Joshua is scheduled to face Kristian Prenga in July, a bout widely viewed as a preparation contest.

He enters that fight as a strong favourite, with expectations that he will move on to face Fury.

BBC reports that the organisers are targeting Wembley Stadium for an October showdown, but final details remain unresolved at this stage.
