Duo admit reckless driving and drink-driving in Sipitang

SIPITANG: The Magistrate’s Court here sentenced two men for offences under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and drink-driving separately.

District Police Chief DSP Mail Sandungi said the duo were charged in court on Tuesday.

Magistrate Abdurrahman Abrar Jarni heard the cases while Insp Rexy Fernanzelle Anak Peter was the prosecuting officer.

In the first case, Janddy Umum was charged under Section 41(1) with driving recklessly which caused death.

In the second case, Paude Mandang was charged under Section 45A(1) for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Pande pleaded guilty and was jailed a day and fined RM 10,000. He paid the fine.
