
RANAU: Two individuals were fined a total of RM3,800 by the Ranau Magistrates’ Court in two separate cases involving voluntarily causing hurt.
In the first case, Khadizah @ Eva Susanty bt Muhiddin, 42, was fined RM2,000, with three months’ imprisonment in default of payment, after she was found to have caused injuries to another woman at the rear of a restaurant in Ranau.
The offence, under Section 323 of the Penal Code, occurred at about 8.05pm on April 1, 2026, at the car park behind Restoran Hasanah in Pekan Ranau.
According to the case facts, the complainant, Norshila binti Ben Hasan, lodged a police report, prompting an investigation.
Investigations found that Khadizah had caused injuries to Norshila, with a medical examination confirming swelling to the upper right lip, an abrasion inside the lip, a loose tooth and a scratch on the left wrist.
Khadizah was subsequently arrested by police at the Ranau District Police Headquarters compound on April 2, 2026.
She was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum one-year jail term, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.
In a separate case, Fazli bin Raimin, 44, was fined RM1,800, with three months’ imprisonment in default of payment, for causing hurt to his 17-year-old nephew.
The incident occurred at about 5.35pm on April 11, 2026, at a house in Kampung Muhibbah, Lembah Permai, Kundasang.
