Kota Kinabalu: State Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe added a distinctive touch to the Miss Tourism International 2023 by treating the pageant’s 44 delegates to a durian extravaganza in Foh Sang, Luyang.
Thanking the organising committee for choosing Sabah as the pageant’s venue, he said the pageant is a good opportunity to promote Sabah’s unparalleled beauty and cultural richness on the international stage.
“Apart from beauty, it also serves as a catalyst for economic growth and cultural appreciation, and putting Sabah and Luyang on the map as a tourism destination,” he said.
Phoong also emphasised the crucial role of promoting entrepreneurship and industrial development in Sabah and encouraged people to discover the untapped potential Sabah has to offer.
