- Dutch darts star Danny Noppert crashed out of the World Grand Prix after losing to England’s Ryan Joyce on Wednesday night.
- Noppert reached the semi-finals of last year’s event and won the UK Open back in 2022, but was unable to find top form as he slumped to a 3-0 defeat.
- After the match, Noppert took to Instagram to explain that he could hear a “strange cracking sound coming from underneath the stage” throughout the match.
- Noppert, who has ADHD, said that due to his condition he “couldn’t block it (the noise) out” which meant that he was unable to focus on playing his best darts.
- Noppert added that the PDC confirmed afterwards that something underneath the stage had come loose, as he expressed his disappointment with his performance.
