Everton boss Sean Dyche was happy with today's friendly win against Stade Nyonnaise.

Katia Kouyate and Neal Maupay struck in the 2-1 victory.

Dyche told the Liverpool Echo, It was a good workout.

Everyone worked very hard this week and we ended with nine of the young players on the pitch and trust me, I think it's probably the first time they've worked this hard going into a game. The game was just a topping to finish off the week so overall, we're all pretty pleased.

It was real. We had a crowd in here with around 500 Everton fans here as well so it just gives it that reality feel and I think that's important.

Often these sides are in front of the curve fitness-wise, which they were, and they came out really having a good go at us but there was no prep work, it was basically just get out there and play lads, familiarise yourselves with playing again. I'm pleased with a few of them who did really well.

I think the young lads will learn a lot from being with us pre-season and they've learned a lot this week, especially the physical prep over what it takes to play in the Premier League. There is a high demand in the Premier League physically and some of these lads' bodies are still adjusting towards the training schedule and what it is to be a Premier League player."
