E&O brought the festive spirit ot Penang to empower local entrepreneurs
Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O), in collaboration with local entrepreneur network Cloud Club, recently hosted the first-ever large-scale Christmas event on Andaman Island, marking the debut of the Fa-La-La Christmas Market.
An Island United
Held over three days, this festive gathering attracted around 10,000 visitors daily and showcased the creativity of local entrepreneurs through a curated marketplace and fun, community-driven activities. Andaman Island, a visionary 760-acre reclaimed project by E&O, is designed to redefine modern urban living.
With a strong emphasis on sustainability, connectivity, and community building, Andaman aims to set new standards in eco-conscious living while enhancing residents’ quality of life.
Sapot Lokal
The Fa-La-La Christmas Market featured 60 carefully selected vendor booths offering a diverse range of products, from fashion and beauty items to delicious desserts, pet-friendly products, and artisanal gifts. The marketplace’s relaxed, lawn-style atmosphere complemented the holiday spirit, bringing together unique offerings that went beyond traditional food and beverage stalls.
Inspired by the magical Christmas Village of the North Pole, the event was filled with interactive activities, including snowing sessions, carol singing, live band performances, a s’mores bonfire, a meet-and-greet with Santa, and workshops. The snowing sessions were particularly popular, transforming the venue into a winter wonderland, a rare sight in Penang.
A Hometown Favourite
The Fa-La-La Christmas Market became a standout addition to Penang’s festive calendar, providing a vibrant, inclusive space for people of all ages to enjoy. Dato’ Seri Tee Eng Ho, Executive Chairman of E&O, highlighted the event as a prime example of Andaman Island’s potential as a community-centric space that not only promotes eco-conscious living but also supports local businesses and entrepreneurs.
