
After her early exit at the Australian Open, Alex Eala returned to the Philippines on Wednesday and confirmed her participation in the inaugural Philippine Women's Open (PWO) on Jan. 24-31 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Malate, Manila.
Eala arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Wednesday evening and announced her participation in the PWO.
"Yes, I will be playing next week. Im looking forward to it and I hope people can show up and support the Pinays," said Eala in a Facebook post the PWO official Facebook page.
"It's a huge milestone in Philippine tennis, and I think its a big deal for all of us Filipina tennis players," Eala added.
