SEEKING her first fourth-round entry at the US Open, Alex Eala aims to end her losing spell against Iva Jovic in the third round (round of 32) of the year's final major on Sunday.
The match is set at the Arthur Ashe Stadium Saturday at 7 p.m. in New York (Sunday at 7 a.m. in Manila).
The Filipino tennis ace fell to the American hitter, one of her closest friends on the WTA Tour, twice in as many matches.
World No. 18 Eala first yielded to No. 14 Jovic at the French Open first round, 4-6, 2-6, last May, and at the Queen's Club second round the following month, 2-6, 2-6.
Eala likewise could not stop Jovic in their US Open "Stars of the Exhibition" match, 3-6, on August 28.
The 21-year-old Eala punched her ticket to the main draw's third round after dispatching Oleksandra Oliynykova, 6-1, 6-4, on Friday.
On the other hand, the 18-year-old Jovic punched her round of 32 ticket after topping Francesca Jones, 4-6, 4-6.
Meanwhile, the cheapest ticket for Eala's grand homecoming match, "Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate" at the Philippine Arena on December 8, is P618.
Playing in front of the Filipino crowd, Eala faces fellow Southeast Asian star Janice Tjen of Indonesia.
Tatler Sports revealed the ticket prices in an Instagram post Friday, saying the presale runs September 7–13, 11:59 PM while the general sale starts September 14.

For P618, fans will be seated at the "Bronze B side" -- the farthest or the nosebleeds gallery of the 55,000-seater arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
It offers a baseline view from above, along with a portion of the sides.
The next cheapest available ticket is P824 still in Bronze B but in the middle section -- the part that separates the two of Bronze B sides.
Bronze B middle offers the elevated side view of the court.
The third cheapest tickets is P1,236 at Bronze A -- the gallery below the Bronze B.
The "Platinum" ticket is the most expensive priced at P63,705.50.
That section is situated just a few feet from courtside with the left and right portions facing the "VVIP" section across, which tickets are priced the second highest at P25,750.
The third most expensive ticket is P20,600 at the "Diamond" section -- the elevated gallery behind the VVIP section.
