MANILA, Philippines — Filipino tennis ace Alexandra "Alex" Eala forged a rematch against world no. 4 Coco Gauff at the BNP Paribas Open after winning her round of 64 clash against Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden Saturday.
World no. 32 Eala first battled Gauff at the Dubai Tennis Championships quarterfinals last month, falling to the American, 0-6, 2-6.
Gauff topped Uzbekistani Kamilla Rakhimova in their round of 64 clash, 6-3, 7-6(5).
Eala and Gauff teamed up in the doubles of the Italian Open last year, reaching the quarterfinals.
