FILIPINA tennis star Alex Eala turned heads as she graced the prestigious 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid, Spain, wearing an elegant Filipiniana dress.
The Women’s Tennis Association shared photos of Eala on social media, showcasing her in a striking white Filipiniana outfit during the event held at Palacio de Cibeles.
Eala also posted a photo on her personal social media account alongside Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
The Laureus World Sports Awards honors excellence and outstanding achievements of athletes across various sports worldwide.
Among this year’s top honorees were Carlos Alcaraz, who was named Sportsman of the Year, and Aryna Sabalenka, who earned the Sportswoman of the Year award.
Meanwhile, content creator Joel Ravanera, more popularly known as “Malupiton,” imitated Eala in one of his latest spoofs.
True to form, Malupiton’s Alex Eala parody went viral on Facebook just like his other videos.
As of writing, the funny Eala spoof he posted on Sunday drew more than 3 million views and 153K reactions.
In the near 12-minute video, Malupiton acted like a scammer anew, wearing a tennis outfit complete with a racket and a ball, introducing himself to a group of friends as Alex Eala.
It started with him hitting the ball on the gate of the house where the group of friends were hanging out.
Malupiton even imitated Eala’s infamous alleged profane reaction after scoring a volley against Clara Tauson in the US Open first round which she won in a comeback, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6, last year.
Malupiton said that he needed financial support to allegedly compete in Iran and bring more gold medals to the Philippines.
After getting past the friend group’s suspicion which pointed out how he looked different compared to the real Alex Eala, Malupiton got what he wanted, taking a few P1,000 bills.
Just like the ending of most of his videos, Malupiton’s scamming ways got busted.
The group found out that he was this repeated scammer all along after getting a closer look at his face when he granted their request to see his racket.
It got funnier when Malupiton had his cap and wig removed, showing his real face.
Malupiton and that friend blurted the signature “Boss!” after the former got busted.
The video ended with Malupiton saying he’s going to win for the Philippines and taking the money he scammed from the group on his way out.
