MANILA, Philippines — The Eastern Police District (EPD) is ramping up preparations for Labor Day on May 1, 2026 to ensure the safety and security.

At least 1,139 personnel will be deployed in the eastern portion of Metro Manila, including major convergence points; about 350 will be deployed to Manila and 501 will be part of the Civil Disturbance Management within the perimeter of EDSA Shrine.

BGen. Alden Lagradante, district commander, directed police personnel from Pasig, Mandaluyong Marikina, and San Juan to maintain their present positions "to heighten public awareness and prevent potential crimes during the celebration."
