KOTA KINABALU: The Election Commission (EC) has invited government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and interested bodies to apply as observers for the 17th Sabah State Election.
EC secretary Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus, in a statement on Thursday, said accredited observers will be allowed to monitor the election process from nomination day until the official results are announced.
He said applications open today, 9 October 2025, and the closing date will be announced after the EC’s special meeting for the state election.
The initiative is part of the EC’s commitment to transparency and accountability in ensuring fair and orderly elections.
