ECO-Shop, in collaboration with Kechara Soup Kitchen, has successfully concluded its month-long charity initiative, Jelajah Kasih Bersama Eco-Shop.

The programme provided over RM20,000 in monetary aid and essential goods to ten senior citizens’ homes across the Klang Valley and Johor.

The campaign, which spanned the festive periods of Chinese New Year and Ramadan, was designed to support the national Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme.

Among the beneficiaries were the National Council of Senior Citizens Organisations, Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Suria, Tong Sim Senior Citizens Care Centre, Amitabha Foundation Elder Home and the Destiny Starting Point Welfare Association Klang.

Jessica Ng, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Eco-Shop Malaysia (centre), highlighted the brand’s commitment to affordability and accessibility with the expansion of its SARA product range in collaboration with MyKasih Foundation, now offering over 60 essential items; including rice, cooking oil, eggs, beverages and instant food — at selected stores nationwide.

Beyond mere donations, Eco-Shop teams conducted personal visits to the homes, distributing care bundles and spending meaningful time with the residents.

“Ramadan is a time that reminds us of the importance of empathy, generosity, and community,” said Jessica Ng, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Eco-Shop Malaysia.

“Through Jelajah Kasih, we wanted to connect with these families on the ground and understand their needs firsthand, not just to show up with goods, but to genuinely listen,” she added.

Ng added that while Chinese New Year and Ramadan differ in tradition, they share a core spirit of togetherness that serves as the foundation for this initiative.

The initiative also empowered the public to contribute through the Bakul Jelajah Kasih activation at selected Eco-Shop stores.

This allowed customers to purchase essential items via the SARA programme and place them in in-store donation bins, effectively turning routine shopping trips into acts of community support.

Following the success of the campaign, Eco-Shop has expanded its SARA product range in partnership with the MyKasih Foundation.

The selection now encompasses over 60 essential items—including rice, cooking oil, eggs, and beverages—with prices starting from RM2.60 at selected locations.

“We hope Jelajah Kasih has shown that care and togetherness are not just festive sentiments—they are values we carry with us all year round.

“As Eco-Shop continues to grow, so does our commitment to the communities that have supported us,” Ng said.
