Ecuador coach Sebastián Beccacece remains firmly confident in his team ahead of their final World Cup group stage match against Germany on Thursday.
But he made it clear that he expects to leave his job if they fail to advance to the knock-out stage.
"We have the possibility of moving forward and, if things don't work, I will have to leave a place I love very much...but I know it's all about results," he said in a news conference on Wednesday.
While Germany are through as group winners, the South Americans are third in Group E with just one point and in danger of being eliminated. Beccacece, meanwhile, has seen criticism over his job grow louder.
"I have complete faith in my players, I don't need to change much," he said.
He said the only issue was his team's lack of precision in front of the goal. But he added that Germany is certainly "a strong team" and "a tough opponent."
Tens of thousands of Ecuadorian fans are expected to attend the game in East Rutherford, just outside New York City. The team wants to "make the impossible possible" against Germany, Beccacece said.
