- Activist and musician Billy Bragg has warned Ed Sheeran that the growing controversy over his tour could tarnish his career and turn him into a pariah, following the removal of opening act Macklemore for making "Free Palestine" remarks.
- Bragg urged Sheeran to cancel the remainder of his tour rather than let wealthy stadium owners dictate artist expression, whilst accusing Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft of attempting to intimidate an artist into silence.
- Macklemore's removal by promoter Messina Touring Group has sparked widespread fallout, causing support acts Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and touring band Beoga to withdraw from the tour in solidarity.
- Sheeran insisted he is "not complicit" and chose to proceed with the tour to safeguard the livelihoods of his crew and support acts while keeping conversations diplomatic.
- Kraft and Sheeran have each pledged $2m towards humanitarian relief in the region.
