Educating young Sabahans through camp

SANDAKAN: The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Evo Camp is set to be a platform to educate young Sabahans about our history, promote and instil patriotism and love for Sabah, said Jamain Sarudin.

“We discuss and share information about interesting current issues, which were not taught in school, via various channels, including social media,” said Jamain, Evo Camp Chairman.

“The more in-depth our youngsters get to learn about the truths and discover our own untold history, they will be given the vital shield, courage and spirit to fight for Sabah rights in Malaysia.

Jamain, who is also SAPP Youth Chief, said the objectives of the three-day programme was focused on empowering Sabah’s youth in terms of leadership, teamwork, history knowledge, and cultural spirit.

SAPP Evo Camp also launched its official website (https://sappevocamp.xyz/), which was officiated by Edward Dagul, the party’s Deputy President, during the closing ceremony of the East Coast Evo Camp here, last Sunday.

Datuk Richard Yong, SAPP Sandakan Zone Chairman, encouraged those who have discovered their talents and leadership abilities through this Evo camp to continue to strive to excel and be a better person and dare to take up challenges and responsibilities.

A total of 81 youngsters participated in this round Evo Camp, which also included study visits to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre as well as the The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC), on top of a series of motivational seminars.

Meanwhile, this program followed by the formation of two more Evo Clubs, respectively in Sandakan and Lahad Datu, with the aim to encourage its members to continue such healthy activities and to introduce SAPP Evo camp to their friends and peers.
