The Education Ministry says it will prioritise student welfare, teacher development and school upgrades while ensuring transparent use of Budget 2027 funds.
PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry (MOE) will maximise its nearly RM69 billion allocation under Budget 2027 to strengthen student and teacher welfare, as well as fund school maintenance and the construction of new schools.
The ministry said the allocation would support initiatives including Early Schooling Assistance (BAP), the Form Six Student Living Allowance, the Supplementary Food Programme (RMT), allowances for students with special educational needs (MBPK), as well as teacher welfare and professional development.
“MOE is committed to implementing and translating the nearly RM69 billion allocation announced under Budget 2027 to support the vision ‘Pendidikan Bermutu, Insan Terdidik, Negara Sejahtera’,” it said in a statement.
The ministry said school maintenance and the construction of new schools would remain key priorities, in line with measures announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when tabling Budget 2027.
It said the increased allocation came with a significant responsibility to ensure the funds were translated into effective action, implementation and tangible outcomes for the education community.
“MOE will strengthen focused and high-impact efforts to ensure every allocation is utilised optimally based on the priorities and needs of its stakeholders,” it said.
The ministry added that Budget 2027 reflected the MADANI Government’s commitment to placing education at the heart of national development.
It also said it was ready to move swiftly to implement the Budget 2027 measures while ensuring efficient and transparent financial governance.
