KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 — National women’s squash ace S. Sivasangari needed just 33 minutes to storm into the quarter-finals of the Egyptian Squash Open 2026 after producing a ruthless straight-games win over Belgium’s Nele Gilis in Giza, today.

The fourth seed in the tournament barely broke a sweat to brush aside her opponent 11-5, 11-6, 11-8 in their third-round clash.

The swift victory not only punched her ticket into the last eight in style but also reaffirmed her complete dominance over the world number 12 by marking her fourth consecutive triumph against Gilis.

Sivasangari’s winning streak over Gilis began at the Qatar Classic 2025 before extending through victories at the Windy City Open 2026 and Australian Open 2026.

With momentum firmly on her side, the Malaysian now marches into the quarter-finals in red-hot form to meet host-nation athlete, Fayrouz Aboelkheir. — Bernama
