Eight counting centres have been set up for the counting of votes polled on May 26 for the Municipal Corporation, Mohali, and Municipal Councils of Zirakpur, Dera Bassi, Lalru, Banur, Nayagaon, and Kurali.

The counting will be conducted under video camera surveillance and foolproof security arrangements. Only authorised persons will be allowed entry into the counting centres to ensure transparency and accountability.

The designated counting centres are:

Municipal Council, Banur – Office of Market Committee, Banur; Municipal Council, Kurali – Community Hall, Office of Municipal Council, Kurali; Municipal Council, Nayagaon – Century Public School, Karoran, Nayagaon, Municipal Council, Zirakpur – Community Centre, Chatt; Municipal Council, Derabassi – Government College, Derabassi; Municipal Council, Lalru – Government Senior Secondary School, Lalru; Municipal Corporation, Mohali (Wards 1-25) – Community Centre, Phase 7; Municipal Corporation, Mohali (Wards 26-50) – Community Centre, Sector 69

A rehearsal of counting arrangements will be conducted at the designated venues tomorrow, May 28, at 10 am. The counting process will commence at 8 am on May 29.

All Returning Officers have been directed to strictly comply with the instructions issued by Punjab State Election Commission to ensure that the counting process remains transparent and fair.
