
PUTATAN: A late afternoon fire in Kampung Petagas destroyed eight semi-permanent houses and displaced several families on Monday.
The fire, which was reported around 4.10pm, left all affected homes gutted.
No casualties or injuries were reported.

Firefighters battled the blaze using two 400-foot hose lines and four water jets, drawing from both fire engines and open water sources.
By 4.55pm, the situation was under control, though overhaul operations to extinguish lingering embers were still ongoing.
Also present at the scene were the police, Sabah Electricity (SE), the Water Department, and the Health Ministry. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
