
TAWAU: A shop selling frozen pork at Mile 3 Jalan Apas here suffered damages when a car driven by an elderly woman, 62, crashed its front door at around 7.30am on Sunday.
Tawau district police chief, ACP Jasmin Hussin said, the woman who was riding in the car with a friend, in her 60s, parked the car in the parking area in front of the shop without turning off the engine.
Advertisement“When the driver got out of the car, a Proton Saga, she forgot to change the gear to ‘P’ causing the car to move forward.
“In a state of panic, the woman quickly went back to the car to control it from continuing to move. But, it is said that she mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal causing it to crash into the premises,” he said.

According to him, the investigation of the case is still being carried out in accordance with Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
