Melaka Tengah district deputy police chief Superintendent Halim bin Abas said preliminary investigations found that a 59-year-old woman was driving a black Proton Prevé from a traffic light junction at Kota Laksamana and was heading towards Klebang.

At the same time, an elderly couple in their 60s was crossing the road to heading to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the Proton Prevé reportedly failed to avoid the duo in time and hit them.

One of the victims, identified as Peng Siting (transliteration), suffered severe head injuries due to the crash’s impact, while her husband sustained injuries to his head and left arm.
