PETALING JAYA - An elderly man died after the four-wheel drive vehicle he was driving crashed into a lamp post in Jalan Klang Lama today.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the police received a report on the accident involving a Mitsubishi Triton at 2.10am.
"Preliminary investigations found that the accident that happened near a factory here took place at 12.10pm.
"The 66-year-old victim is believed to have lost control of the vehicle and hit a lamp post on the side of the road," he said in a statement today.
Mohamad Fakhrudin said the victim died while receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
"The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
"The public who witnessed the accident or were at the scene during the incident are asked to come forward to the nearest police station or contact traffic investigating officer Inspector A. Navalan at 014-2536820 to facilitate the investigation," he said.
