Kota Kinabalu: A senior citizen was electrocuted and a durian stall in Kampung Polumpung Malangkap, Kota Belud, caught fire in a freak weather incident on Tuesday.

An umbrella was blown by strong winds and struck an electrical cable, causing a fire that spread to the stall, said the fire department in an update.

The 67-year-old woman sustained an electric shock and lost consciousness in the incident and was immediately sent to the hospital by members of the public before the arrival of the fire department at the scene.
