
KOTA MARUDU: An elderly woman living alone was found burnt to death in a fire incident at Kampung Pituru, near here, on Sunday night.
Kudat Fire and Rescue Station Chief Ishak Jabas said the victim, identified as Lo Hiong Lan, 76, was found burnt in her living room after the fire was extinguished.
Ishak added that, besides the two-storey semi-permanent house, a Perodua Kembara was also completely destroyed in the incident.
According to Ishak, three firefighters rushed to the scene, located 45 kilometres away, using a utility vehicle along a gravel road after receiving the emergency call at 10.10 pm.
