KENINGAU: Former Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) deputy president Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin, alongside several former party leaders and members from Sook, Nabawan, and Tulid, has joined Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat), bolstering the party's Pensiangan division.
Ellron, who is also a former State Youth and Sports Minister, handed over his membership application to Pensiangan Gagasan Rakyat chief Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohd Yassin following the division's committee meeting at Hotel Sento here on Thursday.
Following his entry into the party, Ellron was appointed as a committee member of Pensiangan Gagasan Rakyat.
Welcoming the move, Abdul Ghani described the entry of Ellron and the former Star grassroots leaders as an added boost to Gagasan Rakyat in Pensiangan ahead of the 16th General Election (GE16).
Abdul Ghani said the division has also formed state constituency-level coordinating committees and is structuring branches based on polling district centres (PDM) to streamline administrative machinery and preparations for GE16.
