Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) Tanjung Aru Division Chief Hiew Choon Yu said Sabah Air Aviation Sdn Bhd (Sabah Air) should embark on a comprehensive business plan to have our own airline in line with Sarawak.
Hiew said this would attract more tourists to Sabah and provide its residents with more affordable airfares as Sabah may be losing up to 6,000 tourists per week due to MyAirline’s recent suspension of operation.
Sabah Air Chairman Datuk Kenny Chua recently stated that considering the lessons learnt from the recent suspension of MYAirline’s operations, Sabah Air needs to formulate a robust business plan before launching its airline operation.
“If Sabah successfully establishes its own airline, it can not only attract a large number of tourists but also provide affordable domestic air travel for the people of Sabah, such as popular routes on the east coast.
