Emma Raducanu has responded to criticism after she was forced to pull out of her mixed doubles match with Andy Murray.
The year-old was due to partner Murray in his last Wimbledon match but had to withdraw after suffering stiffness in her wrist.
The decision appeared to draw criticism from Murray’s mother, Judy.
When quizzed on the comments about her withdrawal by journalists on Sunday (7 July), Raducanu said: “I haven’t seen her reaction, so I don’t know.”
“It was properly from an emotional perspective,” the reporter said.
“I am sure she didn’t mean it,” Raducanu replied.
