BEAUFORT: An employer who runs a beauty centre here was fined RM1,000 or one year in jail by the Magistrate’s Court here for failing to register the company with the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

Magistrate Abdurrahman Abrar Jarni meted out the sentence to the employer for committing the offence under Section 4 of the Socso 1969.

Beaufort Socso Prosecuting Officer Siti Noradiah Ag Abdul Rahman prosecuted.

Socso Branch Manager Rizal Jamaluddin in confirming the matter to the Daily Express, recently, added that the employer had also committed an offence under the (General) Regulations on Employee Social Security 1971 where the employer was found to have failed to register the company with Socso.
