Jos Buttler has undergone surgery on the hamstring injury he sustained during England’s ODI defeat by Sri Lanka at Headingley last month.
Buttler posted an image on his Instagram account on Monday showing an image of him reclining on a hospital bed and the caption: “Successful surgery and on the road to recovery. Feeling more motivated than ever!”

The former England white-ball captain and two-time World Cup winner initially retired hurt before returning and attempting to play on for a short spell.
Buttler was already ruled out of the ODI series in Pakistan, and will also miss next month’s white-ball tour of Australia, with the squad due to be announced this week.
His next scheduled assignment is with Durban’s Super Giants in the SA20 in January, but no timeframe has been announced for his recovery process.
