
Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Sports Commissioner’s Office (PJS) is reinforcing compliance with Sections 33 and 36 of the Sports Development Act 1997 in motorsports events, ensuring better governance and safety in the industry.
Malaysia Sports Commissioner Suhardi Alias said discussions were held with motorsports associations to enhance governance and further develop the sport in Sabah.

PJS is also considering input and safety guidelines provided by the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM), which prioritise the well-being of participants, spectators, and organisers, he said.

PJS and MAM also aimed to establish stronger communication networks with all motorsports stakeholders in Sabah.

Additionally, the initiative seeks to prevent accidents resulting from failure to comply with MAM and FIA guidelines, providing a fresh direction for motorsports in the State.

The session is expected to serve as a turning point for motorsports in Sabah, driving positive transformation for all involved.
Also present were MAM Deputy President Datuk Mohammed Rhiza Ghazi and MAM Secretary-General Neethiananthan R.K. Shunmugam.
