
The Eastern Police District (EPD) had intensified police patrols in and around schools to help ensure the safety of students, teachers, school personnel, and parents amid the unfortunate shooting incident in Tacloban City yesterday.
Police said were mobilized near schools premises to ensure public safety, and deter possible threats, and provide assistance when needed.EPD acting director Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr. said the increase police visibility covers the municipality of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan.He said that police personnel will continue conducting visibility patrols, monitoring of school activities and stakeholders, especially during school opening and dismissal hours.
“As part of the EPD's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment, police personnel have been strategically deployed in and around school premises to provide security coverage, maintain peace and order, and deter potential threats,” Buslig Jr. said.“These intensified security measures aim to protect students, teachers, parents, and school personnel, particularly during school opening and dismissal hours,” he said.Through continuous monitoring, visibility patrols, and community engagement, the EPD remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard the welfare of the public and support the uninterrupted pursuit of education, he stated."The safety and security of our students, teachers, and parents remain our top priority.

Meanwhile, NPD acting director Brig Gen.
