PGM Order of Merit leader Ervin Chang faces strong challenge from Malcolm Ting, R Nachimuthu and several established winners at Port Dickson.
PORT DICKSON: PGM Order of Merit 2026 leader Ervin Chang is ready to challenge for another strong finish when the PGM Port Dickson Closed Championship 2026 begins tomorrow at Port Dickson Golf & Country Club.
Chang, who finished runner-up at the recent Pahang event, faces a strong field that includes Malcolm Ting, last year’s runner-up, and R Nachimuthu, who has enjoyed success at the Port Dickson course.
Several established PGM Tour winners will also feature, including Ben Leong, Jeremiah Kim, Shaifubari Muda and Nicholas Fung, the record-holder for the most victories on the PGM Tour.
Isaac To secured top spot in Monday’s qualifier after carding three-under-par 69. A total of 14 players earned places in the championship, which starts tomorrow, with the final round scheduled for Thursday, Aug 20.
The tournament is expected to provide another stern test at the par-72 Port Dickson Golf & Country Club, with players facing a tight course layout and potentially challenging conditions throughout the week.
In the Ladies Championship, defending champion Liyana Durisic returns to Port Dickson hoping to retain her title. The women’s field will also have to contend with the demanding layout and winds blowing in from the sea.
The PGM Port Dickson Closed Championship 2026 carries a prize purse of RM180,000, while the Ladies Championship offers RM30,000 in prize money. The event is hosted by Port Dickson Golf & Country Club.
With Chang leading the PGM Order of Merit and several proven winners in the field, the tournament promises an intriguing battle for honours, while Durisic will look to continue her dominance in the women’s competition.
