MANILA, Philippines ─ Senate Presiding Officer Chiz Escudero on Wednesday announced the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte will continue with whole-day hearings starting this October, as the chamber adjusts its schedule for the deliberations of the 2027 national budget.
Escudero said the trial shall run from 10:00 a.m. until early evening on Oct. 1-2, Oct. 5-9 and Oct. 12-15, with no sessions.
He said the trial will then be suspended to give way to budget hearings by the Senate Committee on Finance.
It is set to resume on Nov. 9 and 16, before returning to the regular schedule starting Nov. 23.
Escudero said they will still finalize the schedule and are only giving the parties advanced information.
