KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Esports Federation (MESF), with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and the MLBB Professional League (MPL MY), will host the Malaysia Esports Cup 2025, bringing together the best teams in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang from this Saturday until March 23.

In a statement today, MESF announced that the tournament is part of efforts to strengthen the local esports industry while serving as a key platform for professional and semi-professional players to showcase their talents and skills at a competitive level.

A total of 16 teams—eight from the MPL MY league and eight from the MLBB Academy League (MAL)—will compete in a highly competitive format, promising intense action and impressive gameplay strategies.

The tournament will feature three main stages.

The Group Stage, from March 8-11, will see 16 teams competing online in a ‘Round-Robin BO3’ format.

The Play-In Stage, from March 14-16, will have the top eight teams advance to a ‘double-elimination’ play-in round.

Meanwhile, the grand finals, set for March 22-23, will mark the tournament’s climax with an in-person showdown at the Pavilion Exhibition Centre, Bukit Jalil.
