- The defendant, from Chigwell in Essex, faces trial at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on 3 October next year.
- Carter previously spoke about how online racist abuse shattered her confidence and left her scared to leave her hotel room during the tournament.
- Earlier this year, a 60-year-old man received a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to posting separate racist abuse on Carter's TikTok account.
