PETALING JAYA: An events manager in Kuching reportedly lost RM1.2 million after being deceived into taking a fraudulent part-time job online.

Sarawak police commissioner Azman Ahmad Sapri said the victim, a man in his 30s, lodged a report claiming to have been offered a part-time job on Tinder by a woman called “Emma” on May 14, the Borneo Post reported.

He said the victim was told he could buy products from Emma, then sell them online and receive a commission.

“The victim made 27 payments totalling RM1.2 million to seven different bank accounts between May 15 and July 13.
