Everton starlet Isaac Price has earned praise from under pressure boss Frank Lampard.

With the Toffees in a serious slide of form that has put them in the relegation zone, Lampard knows he must get results.

However, he is always focusing on integrating players from the club's youth setup into the first team.

He said of Price recently, "Yeah for sure, he came on [against Brighton] and I thought he did well in difficult circumstances.

“It is still open for him so he needs to keep working hard and he needs to understand he is in that corridor now, in which he has moved up to the first team, he might not play, he might have to go back down and play in the U21s, [and in those circumstances] you need to be one of the best players when you play there and show a really good attitude and come back with us."

He then added: "It is the reality for a lot of players [shifting from first team to youth matches], but he definitely deserves a lot of credit for how he has trained and how he has forced himself into the reckoning to get onto the pitch for us. He is a really talented boy, he has got a nice work ethic about him, he is ambitious and all those things, so he is certainly putting himself in my thinking in terms of the midfield."
