Everton boss Frank Lampard has defended fans after videos emerged of his players being approached outside of Goodison Park.
Lampard says he understands the "passion" of supporters.
"I've spoken to some of the players. This is not just an Everton situation," Lampard said.
"I've been in football a long time where similar things have happened so let's not try and just make it an Everton conversation.
"This club has huge passion, which is unique and sometimes passion can overspill in a good way, like we saw last year. I know the majority of Evertonians just want this team to do well and have an absolute right to voice an opinion about a game.
"Of course we don't want fans going up to players, I think it's a small minority that spoke to the players and I'd love to not see that again. But I also understand the passion of fans and what they want but the players have to understand when they are working in this industry and lucky to be doing a good job that sometimes they have to take some things."
On his relationship with the board, Lampard also said: "They are honest. I have to be honest because my job is in the now, I have to say what is in the now I wouldn't be doing my job right.
"I have to say it as I see it. The owners or board have to work to a structure they know in terms of what we can do.
"We speak about budgets, the squad, what we can do, the reason they stay private is normal but they are honest."
