Everton boss Frank Lampard admits they have holes in his squad after their 4-0 preseason defeat to Minnesota United.

Everton have sold striker Richarlison to Tottenham this summer and signed defender James Tarkowski on a free transfer after his contract with Burnley expired.

Lampard says "there is a void in forward areas", while "through the team, there are things that I want to strengthen".

He said: "The lads have trained well out here. They have trained hard as they should do but that performance should give them a real something to think about on the plane home because it has certainly given me something to think about."
